Welcome!
Blood Bike Mid West is a charity that provides an Urgent Medical Transport Service to/from hospitals, private hospitals, clinics, hospices and to individuals in their own home across the Mid-West Region.

Based in Limerick city, we operate a 24/7 call-out service 365 days of the year using all volunteer riders and drivers.

We do not charge for this service.

We receive no state funding and entirely reliant on fundraising to generate funds to operate this service.
100% of all donations go towards the running of the charity and maintenance of our vehicles with insurance, maintenance and Fuel costs our biggest outgoings.

All our volunteers are unpaid and give up their time for free.
Our Mission Statement
Our Mission is to act as a Volunteer based Urgent Medical Transport Service by providing the transport of urgently needed blood products, blood samples, breast milk, patient records, scans, medications and any other medical requirements between hospitals, primarily but not exclusively in the Mid West Region.
Base of Operation
Our base of operation is Limerick city with our primary goal to deliver a service in Limerick, Clare and Tipperary. We linkup with other Blood Bike groups across the country to provide a nationwide service.
One very important additional service is the collection and transportation of breast milk. The Human Milk Bank is located in Fermanagh and regular trips are required to ensure the Maternity Hospital Limerick is kept stocked in order to help support premature babies and their mothers.
